The Albanian Partner of the project LASPEH, the National Agency of Protected Areas (AKZM Agjencia Kombëtare e Zonave të Mbrojtura), together with the Regional Administrate of Protected Area (RAPA Berat), has organised an Info Day that will be held on 16 November 2018 in Berat (Multifunctional center Roshnik).
In Albania, LASPEH project will implement several activities for a better management of conservation plans on priority species in the pilot area, the National Park “Tomorri Mountain” in Berat. The National Park of “Tomorri Mountain” is one of the few examples of how joint efforts could be successful in sustaining the community to use the services of the park in a sustainable way.
The partners will conduct an awareness campaign on stakeholders, outlining also the concrete actions envisaged by LASPEH project for Tomorri Mountain National Park.
LASPEH project, co-funded for around 500.000 EUR by the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro Programme, Priority Axis 3 (Environment protection, risk management and low carbon strategy), aims to promote and support the biodiversity safeguard reducing the contraction of biological diversities. In other words, LASPEH faces the loss of biodiversity by defining a common strategy to preserve the natural heritage and the landscape in the Low Adriatic basin.
LASPEH will implement several activities such as a transnational joint strategy for the better management of priority species in Natura 2000 sites, conservation plans on three priority species and their pilot areas to be adopted at local (regional) level, conservation pilot actions to improve the level of protection of target species/habitats and boost long lasting environmental conservation, and finally awareness campaign on stakeholders (targeted workshops addressed to schools and families on environment preservation, visits to natural sites for children, schools and families to boost sustainable tourism).
