Covid-19 restrictions do not stop LASPEH awareness campaign of the National Parks of Montenegro. Considering ban on gatherings and events all over Europe, it's time to adapt to the present circumstances and find alternative ways to reach the local community. This is why the Montenegrin project partner decided to launch a Newsletter to share with its stakeholders, continuing to inform and educate them from home, in a responsible and safe way.
The objective of the campaign is to inform the local community and other target groups about the importance of preserving natural heritage through raising awareness of the importance of the endemic pine Pinus Heldreichii and its habitat in Lovćen National Park.
Before the time of Covid-19 the awareness campaign consisted in a series of interactive events organized with the local community in the National Park Lovćen: among them, a Day with Volunteers to monitor the general health status of Pinus heldreichii together with the students of the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematisc from Podgorica; a Hiking day to raise awaireness of locals and tourists about the endangered species in the park; a Training Day for rangers of the National Park Lovćen and a Tea Party with the pupils of the Primary School of Cetinje.
